Days Left

There are only a few days left to enter the TB Air Race. I am sorry that I haven't been updating regularly, we have had some serious family illness which has meant us being away from home a lot over the last few weeks. However, even if the blog isn't updated in early January, please start your planes off as planned and I will update as soon as I can.

If you still want to enter, email me with your TB number and a photo before 1st January.

Happy Christmas.

Back Home

I had an email from BlackstoneVal yesterday to let me know that he had now received his winning coin and the winners coin. He is going to email some photos over soon for me to add to the blog.

We are still waiting for a UK winner. Some racers are a lot closer than others with Pudsey currently residing in this very exclusive TB hotel http://coord.info/GC2A4YX I can't imagine any bug wanting to leave this place quickly, I am sure that Pudsey is feeling extremely pleased with himself to land in such a fine cache.

More news and a proper update soon. Meanwhile I have some business to attend to.

Thanks for reading.

Latest News

So where are we at? We have entries lining up and waiting in their respective hangers. We even have some entries ready and waiting and the entrants don't know that they are entering yet!

We have cache owners all ready and waiting to keep an eye open for planes to arrive in their caches, here in the UK and also in the US and Australia.

The race is still on course to start on January 1st next year and entrants can set their plane off from any cache that they like. So for anyone on holiday for the New Year's holiday that will give you plenty of chances to set your plane off away from your home area.

More photos of entrants will be posted shortly.

A Slight Change

Having thought about it, it is quite a lot to expect the race TB's to reach all 6 caches that are so far apart. Therefore there has been a slight change.

The TB's need to reach only one UK cache, the choice of two is still there and also the caches in New York and Sydney. This should make the chances of winning the race a lot more attainable.

As before the first TB that reaches one of the UK caches, + the New York and Sydney caches will be the winner.

More Details

As promised more details regarding the new race.

All entries should be TB's attached to toy planes.

They can set out from any cache that you like and need to reach 3 caches worldwide. The list of caches is on the Airport list page.

You must not place your own TB in to any of the listed caches, however, if you are feeling kind and pick up another entry you may place it in to a destination cache.

Two caches are in the UK, one in the USA and one in Australia.

The first TB that manages to visit one of the caches in the UK and the cache in the US and Australia, in whatever order will be the winner of the specially minted race geocoin.

In the event that one of the target caches is archived during the running of the race I will choose another cache in the vicinity of the archived cache.

TB's must not be posted to another cacher or relative in the same or another country.

I would prefer for all entries to have a themed name, ie caching name followed or preceded by Airways, Air etc. For instance, my own entry will be Air Jacaru.

My own entry will be in the race just for the fun of it and will not be entitled to win the coin should it be the first to reach all  destinations.

For more details please contact me through my geocaching profile.
